Post Hurricane Harvey: Leaving the Texas Gulf Coast

So, John and I are going to be hitting the road! We’ve managed to acquire a tiny teardrop camper to serve as our new fulltime home. Most of our friends and family think we are crazy, but we are going to be heading out with our 2 dogs and our 2 cats. Guys: this camper is incredibly small, but we will just have to make it work! Thankfully, I have some wonderful out-of-state friends who have generously offered to let us camp out for a while. This is extremely good news because I need to get back to work! Believe it or not, I’m ready!

Red Cross, FEMA, Texas Disaster Unemployment… It’s a been a total nightmare and I don’t want to do it ever again! I’m getting too old for this song and dance. Harvey is the third time we have lost pretty much everything we own because of a Hurricane and I’m done. Every time this happens, I have to re-invent myself.

This time, all the reasons John & I had to stay on the Texas gulf coast are gone. Sure we have friends and family here, but we can always visit! Eventually, we will be back to Texas. This is our home.

So that’s the word on the street guys!  Pretty much everything we own in life will fit into our tiny 11-foot rolling bed on wheels… And here soon, we will be GONE! Texas in our tail lights! ( At least for now! )

Thank You to everyone who has written and checked up on us! Especially those who have sent money and essential items to get us through this mess! We appreciate you SO much!
